Dance

Tay's dance class got to perform on Saturday in Charles City. It was short and sweet. There were only a few classes and they each did two dances. Here is a picture of Hannah, Tay, and Marcy.

Tierney

Tierney was digging in the closet the other day and found some old swimmer diapers. She thought she was pretty funny putting them on her head. We told her she could use them for her babies and you would have thought that was the greatest thing ever! She will appreciate these pictures when she is in high school!
Roscoe is growing on Tierney. At first she wasn't to sure about him but now she will play with him. Tay always sits by his bed when he is sleeping. Well Tierney does that now also!

My other Tierney story for the week is that she has this obsession lately with calling her dad Marshall instead of dad. It is kinda funny at times. I don't think Marshall thinks it is. For example the other day she had fallen asleep on the couch and Marshall had left to do some errands she woke up and asked "where's Marshall". We are trying to break her of it! I guess on the bright side if she ever got lost in the store she would know what her dad's name is!

Fevers

Tay ended up with a fever Saturday night and we haven't been able to break it yet. Tierney got one yesterday and still has hers this morning also. They are both VERY cranky right now. It was just three weeks ago when they both had them for an entire week. I'm hoping that it doesn't last that long again!

Multiplication

Tay passed all of her multiplication timed tests today! She was the first girl in her class to get them done and overall the third person!! She was very proud and so are we. I remember having to do flash cards every night as a kid to get mine done but she hasn't had to do that at all.

Dance Pictures

Hannah, Tay and Marcy waiting to get their hair done

We had dance pictures yesterday. I am glad that only comes once a year. Both the girls did a good job. Tierney was somewhat impatient at times but that is just her nature. She is like her mother and does not care to wait. I picked up Tay and Hannah from school to get their hair done and then we picked up mom and Tierney. I didn't do as well as usual with taking pictures especially of the girls in their costumes so I guess we will have to wait until the pictures come back.

Tay Basketball

Here is Tay's basketball picture for this year. She isn't real fond of the color of their shirts. She thinks it should be their school colors and that the green is too bright! They only have one practice left. It seems like the last five weeks have flown by!

I kissed a boy

When I picked Tierney up from school today she started laughing and said "I kissed a boy at school". Then she put her hands over her mouth and really laughed. When I bravely asked where she luckily said on his head. Oh and the teacher didn't see her. When I asked who of course she told me it was Logan and then went on to say that Mia kissed Aiden on his head also. I look at my sweet girl with her spring hat on that she made at school and wonder how she can be so boy crazy at four years!

Hailey's Party

Tierney, Uncle Nate, Tay, Nana, Hailey
Tierney hitting her balloon
Hailey waiting for her balloon to fall
Tay helping blow up balloons
Tierney making sure she has balloons to play with.
Yesterday we celebrated Hailey's birthday. It is hard to believe she will be three on Wednesday. The girls really had a good time especially Tierney. Hailey and her played very well together. They spent a lot of time hitting and chasing the balloons. Hailey let Tierney help her with her presents which of course Tierney loved.

Spoiled!

Roscoe is so spoiled already. The girls just love him... Tierney likes him more and more everyday. At first she was pretty jealous but now she asks to help with him. For example today she asked if she would ever be able to take him out to go to the bathroom. So as you can see above I let her. She is so proud of herself. Also above you can see Tay reading a book to Roscoe and to Tierney. Oh and did I mention he comes everywhere with us. Tay doesn't like him to be in the kennel except at night to sleep. She has even tried passing up doing things with her friends to stay home with him until I remind her that I can take care of him. They also argue about who gets to feed him... it is quite cute and hopefully won't grow old. Tay has even told us to wake her up in the morning so she can take him out. I am really glad we decided to get him!

Preschoool

We have been debating what to do for Tierney next year for preschool. We really like the preschool she is at minus a few changes this year. It is the same school we sent Tay to all three years. We have been thinking about sending her to the preschool at Tay's school but aren't sure. On Tuesday we attended their meeting to check it out and Tierney got to check out the classrooms and meet all of the teachers. She really liked it. She also thinks it would be pretty cool to go to the same school as her big sister and her friends. That is what we are leaning towards at this point. They also didn't seem to push the all day preschool as much as her current school is. I just don't think she needs to go all day. They grow up so fast and she is tired after going only two mornings a week! How do you know what is the right decision? Hopefully we will make the one that is best for her!

Texting

The girls were on the porch yesterday and Marshall came in laughing. Apparently they were sending text messages to eacfh other on their play cell phones. Of course I had to go take their pictures then.

Roscoe's Firsts

Roscoe had a lot of "firsts" yesterday. The girls and I attempted to take him on a walk to the library yesterday afternoon. Well lets just say on the way there I carried him most of the way since he wasn't going to walk. It was much better on the way home he started chasing Tierney and was able to walk the entire way home. Tierney was laughing the entire time... he likes to chase her anywhere. We also gave him his first bath. Lets just say he did not care for that at all. Tay took the pictures of him in the tub. And best of all he did not have any accidents yesterday!! Lets hope that continues!

Tierney

Tierney has said so many things this week that just kill me. She has informed me that an outfit I picked out for her is "just ugly" and that I needed to get something different. This morning Marshall was being kind of cranky and she informed us that he was going to have "another cranky day". She also stated that we should have gotten a girl dog not a boy and this morning when she was helping me clean she informed me that I worked her to hard and now her legs are tired. She is something else!

Taylor

Taylor's funny for the week was the other night when Marshall and I were discussing when we could get Roscoe neutered. Taylor informed us that she didn't understand why he would need to be neutered since he is a boy and boy's can't have babies. Luckily I was able to answer that it takes a boy and a girl to have a baby and she said "oh yeah" and didn't ask anymore questions. Thank goodness!

Tons

Tierney informed me this afternoon that she has "tons" of boyfriends. What is that about? That girl likes to give us trouble and she is only four!

So far so good....

Life with a puppy isn't as bad as I had anticipated. So far Roscoe has been a delight. The first day he wet on the floor four times and the past two days only two accidents each day. I don't think that is so bad. Oh and did I mention they have all been in the kitchen or dining room so they have been easy to clean up! We take him out almost hourly unless he is sleeping but Tay has been doing a great job handling that when she is home or awake. He doesn't care for his kennel but he whines a little and will stop. If he hears any noise at night he tries whining again to see if you will get him but then stops when you don't. And so far no accidents in the kennel! He loves to sit on our laps. Tay can't get enough of cuddling him. It is way cute and when she is busy I get the honor. I didn't think I'd be so attached to him already but he is a doll! He pounces when he plays it is adorable!

Roscoe

We picked up Roscoe yesterday afternoon. The girls are so excited. Well Tierney was at first but when we were standing outside for about the fifth time last night she stated "I told you this is why I didn't want a dog". Typical statement from her. But today she is playing with him again. Tay is in love. The first night wasn't so bad. He whined some throughout the night in his kennel but then would stop. He has peed on the kitchen floor a few times but we have gotten him out to do anything else! It is amazing how much he wants to chew... good thing we got the toys we did! He loves to sleep on you and to be held. The book says you can have them trained to go outside in seven to fourteen days. Marshall is hoping it will be seven... ha I'm thinking in a month.

Progress

Tierney woke up this morning and did not have a fever!! The doctor gave her something yesterday which I think helped. I got home a little while ago and she is finally happy!! Tay was sleeping when I got home. She had a fever again last night but today seems to just have a cough. Tierney is lucky and gets to go to dance. Unfortunately Tay is going to stay home and rest. She is missing dance and basketball tonight but we are hoping the extra night of rest will kick this thing finally. We have made progress so that is good news!!

Still sick...

The poor girls can't catch a break. Tay's fever finally broke Monday night. We kept her home Tuesday to rest. She slept in until 9:30 and then took over a two hour nap and back to bed at 7. She was a grump. She still has no fever but has been coughing. With her it is hard to tell if the cough is from her asthma or more to it. This morning at 5 I decided not to go into work again (more of that in a minute) so when Tay got up and was coughing Marshall and I debated whether we should send her to school. She was in a good mood and insisting on going so we decided to let her and told her if she even felt tired to go to the nurse. Well at noon I got a call from the nurse. The poor girl got sick at recess. They don't have school on Friday so she has the rest of the week off. Tierney has had a fever since Sunday. I had called the doctor and they said to give her tylenol and motrin and keep an eye on her but to bring her in if it didn't get better. She has been a grump and only wants me. Well last night her fever seemed to be gone and she was spunky so I thought all was well and thought I'd go back to work today. Well when I got up to get ready guess who noticed and was very warm. Her fever was back so I decided to take her in. She looks terrible and only wants me. She is hardly eating or drinking. So we went to see the doctor this morning. Her ears and throat are good and he thinks it must be viral but gave her something because he can't believe how sickly she looks. So we are going to try that until Friday and then if the fever is still hanging on we need to call. She took that medicine about three hours ago and seems to be full of it so lets keep our fingers crossed!

Luckily we haven't gotten the call that our puppy is ready because this week has not been a good one. Maybe we can go Tuesday since school has been cancelled since the boys made it to state for basketball and hopefully by then everyone will be healthy!

Sickness

Tay started running a fever yesterday and having chills. She has had a cough the past few days (I was blaming that on the fact that she doesn't like to do her inhaler and that she had "forgot" to do it some). She still has the fever and her face is all red. Tierney woke up this morning coughing some and not feeling well but she seems to be feeling better now so we will see. Kids have been out sick a lot in the past month in Tay's class. I was thinking for once she wouldn't get it but I guess I was wrong. She still has a fever so she can't go to school tomorrow. They have an early out so at least she won't miss a full day but we have conferences. Luckily Marshall's mom is able to come and stay with them so we don't have to re-schedule. I'm not sure what we would do if our parents weren't as close and helpful as they are.
