Thanksgiving

Uncle Nate picking on the little girls.
Tierney and Hailey
We spent Thanksgiving Day at my parents'. The girls went over Wednesday night to stuff the turkey and to sew. Tierney didn't eat any turkey on Thanksgiving day. I'm guessing it's because she felt bad for the turkey since before they went over she was asking Marshall why they had to stuff the turkey and said she was sad for the turkey since we eat it. Her mind is always going! Tay and Nana worked on a blanket that Tay is making.... I will post pictures once they get it done.

It's My Real Birthday!

Tierney and Hailey

Tierney is so funny... on the day of her birthday when we got to school she had to tell everyone that it was her "real birthday". Uncle Nate and Hailey made her a cake and homemade ice cream. We also got to go to McDonald's for dinner. She told me that she didn't feel like she was six but guessed she would in the morning!

Tierney 6 Years Old

Here are Tierney's birthday pictures. It was so funny taking her to have them taken. The lady taking the pictures was treating Tierney as if she was much younger than she was and Tierney wasn't having it. The lady asked her what the cow says and Tierney made some weird sound with her mouth and then laughed. Then the lady asked her something else silly and Tierney told her "I'm Evil". Yep that's our Tierney. We did get some cute pictures. I still cannot believe that she is six already! Our girls are growing so fast.... I wish we could slow the time down.

Tierney's 6th Birthday Party

Opening presents
Kandice, Mason, Jacob, Hailey, Lydia, Tierney
Tay and Hannah

Tierney had her first friends birthday party yesterday. She had her party at the Super 8 with a Hannah Montana theme. She had so much fun and the kids were great. It is hard to believe that our baby is six years old today.... how did that happen so quick?

Tierney's bday party

Tierney had her first friends birthday party tonight with both of our families. We had it at the Super 8. I was a little nervous when we agreed to letting her invite some of her friends. I wasn't sure how that many little kids would do together... well we could not have had it go any better. They all played great together. There was no fighting! They swam great together, joked around while they ate, and took turns while Tierney opened her presents. Tay had her friend Hannah come to the party so she had someone to swim with and those two were a great help with getting the little ones' their plates, drinks, etc. Tierney had so much fun and told me it was the best party ever!! I'll post pictures tomorrow!

Reading

Tierney is doing so well with her reading. She has read me two Little Critter books this week with little help. This past week I was at the school when they were testing on their "sight words"... I was so proud she was the only one in the class who knew all of them. All of her classmates clapped for her. It is so nice to see her doing so well since the adjustment of going to school all day has been hard for her. She has such a strong interest in learning to read I hope it continues!!

What to do...

Getting Tierney to school has been such a struggle lately. I keep thinking it will get better but I actually think it is getting worse. Every morning she has a tummy ache and does not want to go. It was working to tell her that if she had a tummy ache at school to tell her teacher and they could call me on my cell phone and I'd come and get her. Well the past two days that has not worked and it has been so difficult to get her to school. This morning I was dragging her to get dressed and then fighting with her to put her coat and shoes on. I hate that she was crying and not wanting to go. It makes me so sad and this morning after I left her I was crying. So far she has seemed fine once she is there and hanging up her coat and her teacher says that she's been fine during the day. Right now I'm at a loss as to what we should do?!

Braces

Before
After
Tay had to get her top braces on today. They are waiting to put the bottom ones on until her bottom baby teeth are out. She did really well when they put them on. Her mouth is pretty sore tonight so we are pushing the tylenol and eating eggs for supper! I can't believe how much older she looks with them on.

Halloween!

Tierney as the witch and Hailey as Jesse from Toy Story.

At the Halloween Party in New Hampton.
Tierney being the Magician's Assistant!
Tierney is all about every holiday which makes it so fun around our house. Hailey got to come over last Thursday and we went to a party that our Parks and Rec office had. They even had a magician and Tierney was chosen to be his assistant. She was so cute up there and very proud that she got to help.
Tay did not give a hoot about Halloween this year. She did not want to dress up or go trick or treating. She ended up taking Tierney to our favorite neighbor's house because she gives them special goody bags but after that stayed home to hand out candy. So Marshall and I took Tierney trick or treating. She is so social. We ended up driving her around to houses of people we knew since it was chilly. Well she would go up to the doors and they would give her candy... then she would talk to them and then they would give her more candy. It turns out that after they gave her the first round of candy she would tell them that her sister was home passing out candy... so people gave her candy for her sister. Marshall was having a fit when he found out that was what she was doing and me being the good parent that I am couldn't help but die laughing! I will have to say that as soon as we got home she told Tay "come look at the candy we got" and has been sharing with her. So at least she wasn't scamming everyone!

Pumpkins

Tierney's pumpkin, Tay's bat, Marshall's spider and three pumpkins pumpkin, and the pumpkin Tierney's class carved at school.

Tay carving her bat pumpkin. Tierney said she won't let her kids carve their own pumpkins until they are fourteen.

What a difference a year makes! Tay did not like cleaning out the pumpkins this year. She got Marshall to do a lot of it for her. Tierney on the other hand loved it! She was very into Halloween this year and could not wait to carve pumpkins. Her name even got drawn at school to take home one of the pumpkins her class carved and the whole time we did ours we had to try to get the insides as clean as her one from school!

Corn Maze

Marlys, Tay, Shelly, Callie, Isabel, Lena, Macy, Hannha, Marcy, me, Cassy

We took our Girl Scout troop to the Corn Maze over by Calmar last week. The girls couldn't find the way out when going in the entrance but had no problem once they went in the exit! We then went for a hayride.
