Tierney Girl Scouts.... Bead Happy

We took Tierney's Girl Scout Troop to Bead Happy.  Tay went along to help the girls.  They made some beautiful necklaces and bracelets!

Tierney Mini Pom

Poor Tierney seems to get hauled all over and she gets frustrated that there isn't volleyball and some older activities for her.  There was a mini pom event that she performed in.  It was interesting squeezing that in with basketball but she got to all the practices and was able to perform at half time of the girls basketball game.   She loves to perform in front of anyone!

Making Christmas Cookies

Since Tierney was sick right before Christmas she didn't get to help with most of the baking and that is something she loves to do. So I had made up the sugar cookies and saved the frosting for her when she felt better. It's amazing how much more time she spent on them this year. She wanted to make sure they were just right!

Tierney's School Christmas Party

I was lucky enough to get to spend some time with Tierney and her class the day of their Christmas party and gift exchange. They were all very excited for Christmas!

Santa

Tierney is such a funny little girl. She was very insistent that we take her to see Santa so we did last night. Well we get there and the kids in front of us started to chicken out so of course Tierney thought she was going to. We had to remind her that she wanted to go see Santa and that's why we were there. So she ended up going right there. She loves Christmas. The bad thing is last night she got sick in the night. I feel so bad for her. As she was getting sick she was crying because she was sure that she will miss Christmas now. Well we have napped all morning and she seems to be doing better. Lets just hope none of the rest of us get it!

Tierney 7

I finally got her pictures taken for her 7th birthday! Marshall and I thought this one was perfect with her hands on her hips... that is her on a normal day!

Excitment...

Tierney is so excited for Christmas. This morning she was up at four talking about her Christmas party at school. They got to wear their pajamas and watch the Polar Express. I will post some pictures later. Tonight we are going to go see Santa and tomorrow we will have Christmas movie day and make cookies. She is so excited and makes it so fun! She keeps talking about all of the Christmas' we have and seeing our family and reminds me that "family is the most important thing" I'm glad at seve she realizes this already!

Bank Performance

Last Friday Tierney's class preformed at one of the local banks. Of course she had to dress up and wear her Santa hat! She loves Christmas!

Tierney's birthday party

Tierney had a skating party the first weekend of December with her friends and my side of the family to celebrate her birthday. She had to have skating and it had to be a peace party. Her, Hailey, and Ethin were all doing quite well skating by the end of the party!

Tierney's Birthday at Grandma and Grandpa's

It is so hard to believe that our little girl is 7. We celebrated her birthday at Grandma and Grandpa's Perkins' house before we went on her birthday surprise!

Oh Tierney...

I just have to share some funny things Tierney said the last couple of days. We have been trying to find tennis shoes for her that she likes. Well she really doesn't enjoy shopping and is very paticular about what she will and will not wear. We had gone all over the mall and didn't find anything so I thought we'd look online. So I had it narrowed down to two pairs and this is what I was told: "we don't buy that kind... puma" and "you don't trust me in white". Oh boy I'm not sure where she comes up with these things. We did find a pair of gray and purple ones lets hope she likes them when they arrive next week!

Then this morning we were getting ready for her school pictures and I was fixing her hair. Well when I was done she looked in the mirror and then said "people don't wear their hair like that anymore". Hmm needless to say we had to re-do it!

So tired...

My parents had Tay's birthday present sent straight to our house. Well of course Tay called Nana and asked if she could open it early and she said yes... this is why we have this large box. Tierney spent the afternoon coloring the inside and outside of the box... I called mom and thanked her for getting Tierney a box. I should also say Tierney has been fighting a cold and hasn't slept well this week and then with having a friend over last night she was exhausted today. I tried to get her to lay down late this morning but of course she wouldn't. Well I was up putting away clothes and called for her several times to come up but she never answered. I just thought she was hiding from me. Well when I came downstairs almost two hours ago this is how I found her!. I actually thought she was faking at first as she likes to trick me but I guess not. This is probably the best she's slept in two weeks!

Tierney's new friend...

Well we are 14 days into Tierney's first grade year and she has now visited the nurse twice. Today was due to a bruise on her knee. The best part is she was complaining about her knee last night after she fell off her bike and we told her to suck it up! I guess the nurse told her not to put heat on it or it'll get bigger. That right there makes me laugh. I'm not sure what to do to stop the maddness. Tay has been telling her that the nurse is now her friend and teasing her so maybe that will make it stop. I just have to shake my head!

This has been such a crazy summer. Tierney has become quite the swimmer and is always striving to do as well as her big sister. Tierney started the summer with going down the water slide without anyone. That was huge for me to let her do. She probably could have done it last year but you know her mother is just a little over protective! Well her big sister is quite the diver. I am always getting compliments on what a good diver Tay is. Guess who also wants to be a good diver... well this last week before the pool closed little miss Tierney started to go off the diving boards! I wouldn't let her go off the high one at first even though the first day she wanted to. I also had her start with her sister going off first and waiting in the water in front of the boards for her and Tay's friend, Tatum waiting in the water on the side of the boards and me outside of the water on the side (like I said I'm a little over protective). Lets just say she doesn't need any of us even though it took me awhile to admit it! Well by the last day of the season Tierney started to go off the high dive. It is just so crazy watching her go off the boards... I almost have to laugh since she looks so small up there! She is so proud of herself and she should be! She is quite the fish!

Tierney started first grade on Thursday. She was so excited to go back to school. She got her friend Kandice's mom for a teacher and is super excited! We are excited as well and hope that with her knowing her teacher so well that she will have a much better school year this year. She even tried ditching her dad today and go into the school on her own today... her parents aren't quite ready for that yet. She can stop growing just like her sister! She is doing so well and had her first spelling test today and got all of the words right so she gets the challenge list this week. We are so proud of her!

Judy

I had to put this on here of Tierney and our neighbor Judy. As I've written about before Tierney loves Judy. Well Judy has had her house for sale and it sold. She moved last Friday and Tierney is very sad. We do have her new address and phone number but Tierney had a lot of tears about her moving. Our new neighbors have moved in and they have a little girl that is in preschool and Tierney does like her so hopefully this will help.

Tierney Softball

Tierney played ball again this summer. She likes ball almost as much as her sister. She is so funny... she knows more rules than a kid her age should. She has spent a lot of time at the ball park with her sister this year and thinks she knows it all about ball. She did a great job batting this year and fielding. She is so hard on herself and told me after one of her scrimmages that she wasn't always down and ready so she was mad at herself. She is so funny! Oh and I have the cutest picture of her that was taken when they had ball pictures but she told me not to put it on her or Facebook because she looks like a dork... so I better not!

Tierney Field Trips

The kindergarten classes went on an end of the year field trip to Charles City. We visited the fire station, museum, and the park. I was one of the lucky parents that got picked to go along! Tierney said her favorite was the train room at the museum.

End of the year Celebration

Tierney's kindergarten class did an end of the year celebration for the parents. They sang us some of their favorite songs as a group. Then they divided into smaller groups and did a reading for us. I cannot believe how well she can read!

Daisys

We had an end of the year party at the park with McDonald's for our Daisy Troop. Tierney loved Daisys this year and is very excited to be a Brownie next year.
